A NOVEMBER TO REMEMBER.
Christmas has come early for two of the region's stalwarts. Three wonderful Pike caught within a few days of each other have really kick started the region's Winter campaign. Two personal bests the highlights of an extra special month. At the start of the month those fishing the Menteith PAC events had their sights set on a decent fish or two. Bruce Turnbull and Dave Gardner fished on the Saturday with Dave catching a small Jack and a Rainbow Trout at around the 8lb mark. For Bruce it appeared that it was going to be another of those Menty days but his luck changed in the afternoon when he hooked and landed a lovely 24lb fish pictured below.
Five members of SENPAC fished the Sunday event. Dave Greally, Andy Eland, Jon Tweddle, Paul "Ghillie" Proctor and Steve "Shark" Sandiford. For Jon it was his first outing on Menteith and it did not take long for him to join the Menty Twenty club. Less than 2 hours into the session Jon struck gold with a stunning fish of 28lb 8ozs. A case of being in the right place at the right time.
Jon - Something Special From The Lake Of Dreams.
Dave Greally and Andy Eland had an uneventful day on the lake but Steve did manage to winkle out a few jacks and boat partner for the day Graham did manage a couple of mid doubles.
More region success in November.

FAIRLY QUIET START TO THE NEW SEASON.
Pictured above SENPAC junior Jonnie Tweddle with his first Pike caught at one of our local waters.
A very quiet start to the season for all the members who have ventured out. A good number of Pike up to around 10lbs have been captured but so far the big girls have not shown up. Bruce and Dave have been trying their luck down in Yorkshire and Steve and Dave Gardner had a few days over the border.
Scott and Luke had two days on a very good water which contains very large Pike but unfortunately it was only Jacks that turned up.

SEPTEMBER - SUMMER SEASON ENDS. - PIKING TIME AGAIN.
The SENPAC Summer season has now come to a close and as this blog is being written some of our members are out on the bank trying to catch that first Esox of the season. Hopes are high that this next six months will provide the lads with some really special fish. Our Summer season ended with the final match of our Summer league. Chris Graham led the field going into the match and despite the other participants giving it a good shot Chris held on to win the trophy. A gallant second was Peter Jones with Mike Bell finishing third and Jon Tweddle fourth.

AUGUST - DECENT CATCHES.
Just another month before the traditional Pike season commences but the region's members are still having great fishing on some of our local waters. Pictured above Dave with a lovely Tench. The other members have also had very good catches of Tench and Bream.

JULY - A VERY GOOD MONTH.
A very good month for some of the members with some lovely fish being caught. Scott pictured above decided to go jigging for Perch on one of his local waters but as you can see something much larger turned up to take his small lure in the shape of this marvellous 26lb Pike. Our Summer league started with round one taking place on one of our more picturesque local waters. After winning the annual Golden Maggot trophy Peter Jones showed us all once again how to catch a decent bag of fish which included some lovely Tench and Crucians. Chris Graham took second place and Jon Tweddle 3rd. Round two will be following shortly with everything still to play for. A very good month for those who chose to track down some Tench with a new PB for Mike. Also a new PB common Carp for Billy.

JUNE - A RATHER QUIET MONTH.
June turned out to be a rather quiet month for the region's members. For some a long awaited holiday stopped the fishing and for those who did manage to get out on the bank catching decent fish proved to be difficult at times. The annual Golden Maggot match was reasonably well attended and on a nice warm and sunny day those attending had a great day. Victory on the day went to Peter Jones who ended up with a nice mixed bag and some lovely Crucian Carp. Dave Greally finished second with Peter Armstrong third. One of the highlights on the day was young Harry Owen who finished fifth showing some of the more experienced anglers how to catch fish.
Billy has been down in Yorkshire and catching some lovely Carp.

MAY - ANOTHER REWARDING MONTH.
Dave pictured above has been on the trail for some decent Perch.
Whilst the other Dave has been concentrating on the Tench.
Pictured above some more Tincas caught by the members during the month.
Andy has been out and about over the border and as usual has come up with the goods.
