NEW SEASON, NEW P.B.

Another new pike season under way and already a new P.B. to report. Tom Leadbitter made the long trip down to the Cambridge Fens with Dave Gardner and was rewarded with this beauty of 15lb 8ozs. Well done Tom. Let's hope it's the first of many.

Summer Update

Hi Folks. Well here we go go again. Another pike season upon us. I'm sure like myself you can't wait to kickstart another year of trials and tribulations. While looking forward to the new season, I couldn't help but look back over the summer months and found myself wondering how other members had kept themselves amused. I bought myself a set of golf clubs but after months of practice still can't cast them. It would appear though that others (especially the younger members) have had a fair bit of success in catching anything scaley while some of us have had to be a little more patient for our rewards. Dave Gardner even travelled over to Thailand in search of exotic beauties but changed his mind when he got there and went fishing instead.
So to everyone. I hope you enjoyed your summer break but now the serious stuff begins again. I hope we can see as many of you as possible on the banks of river, lake, loch or canal. Good luck and may all yor lines be tight.
Finally I'm sure everyone will join me in wishing Simon Fairclough a speedy recovery from his illness. Get well soon mate and hope to see you out and about again soon.
Neil.

20lber

S.E.N.P.A.C. bloggs are like Northern busses. Nothing for ages then three come along together. Thought this was worth posting though even though its not a p.b. Lyn managed to sneak this one out over the weekend while out with the rest of the family. It was the only bite of the day and came within the last half hour of the trip. 20lb 8ozs. Well done Lyn, cracking fish.

Presentation Night

S.E.N.P.A.C. held their annual presentation night on Saturday 30th January 2010 at our new venue, The Northumbrian Piper. It's the best turnout that I,ve ever seen at any event held by the club in all the years since I joined the club. Thanks to all who attended despite the dreadful weather.

Thanks to the staff of the Piper who laid on a superb buffet, to Bruce for the cracking slide show, to Mike who acted as compere for the evening and Lyn for presenting the awards.Pike angler of the year went to Paul Proctor. Stuart Fairclough won the club championship and also caught the biggest fish on a club trip. Ross Greaves also won two awards, biggest fish of the year and best fish caught on a lure. Bruce Turnbull won the Stuart Mordue trophy and Luke Baker won the junior angler of the year. A special award was presented to Dennis Fearon for the best quote of the year which is unfortunately unprintable and to Susan for all she's done for us over the years. Congratulations to you all.

Paul Proctor

Paul Proctor upped his P.B twice in the space of a week. His first fish tipped the scales at 15lb 2ozs. A few days later he returned to the same venue and caught another cracker of 18lb 13ozs. Well done Paul, great going.

New Venue.

S.E.N.P.A.C. have had to move away from the Holystone pub due to the retirement of Dennis and Susan Fearon. I'm sure we'd all like to thank both Dennis and Susan for the fantastic support they have given us over the years. Hopefully we'll now see more of Dennis on the banks We now have a new venue for our monthly meetings, the Northumbrian Piper, Red House. Meetings will continue to take place on the last Tuesday of each month at 8:00p.m.
