PIKING TIME APPROACHING ONCE AGAIN.

 Just one more month to go and we will once again be into the new Pike season. Our members I am sure will be sorting out their gear ready for an early start. In the meantime the region is ticking along nicely with its Summer matches. This year's "Golden Maggot" match that was cancelled earlier in the year took place on one of our local waters. On what proved to be a tough day all round Paul Pogo Patterson finally nosed ahead to beat Jon Tweddle to the trophy.

Round three of the region's Summer league took place last weekend and once again Paul rose to the occasion again beating Jon into second place with Chris Graham finishing third. Top spot in the league is still being held by Chris who has a substantial lead over Paul who has now taken second place. Mike Bell is presently placed third with one round to go. The final leg will be fished at the back end of September.

We are continuing to get marvellous support for our BIG SENPAC/PAC Pike and Predator event which is being held at West Moor Club, 16, Moorside, Great Lime Road, West Moor, Newcastle NE12 7NL on Saturday 24th October 2026. Some amazing raffle prizes to be won on the day or why not bid in our auction to win a once in a lifetime one or two day trip with one of the country's top predator anglers.

JULY - SUMMER MATCHES.

 

Bruce Turnbull has been continuing his quest for a new PB Tench on a local water. His search goes on but in the meantime he is catching some stunning fish like the one pictured above.

The region's Summer league continues and round two of this year's series was won once again by Chris Graham with a winning weight of 4lb 12 ozs. Steve Sandiford took second spot and Paul Patterson third. So the table after round two shows Chris well ahead of  second place Mike Bell with Steve Sandiford moving into third place. Round three of the four match series will take place at the end of August. Prior to this the annual Golden Maggot match will be fished on one of our local waters.

We are presently ramping up the advertising for the SENPAC/PAC Pike and Predator Charity Angling Event which is being held at West Moor Social Club, 16, Moorside, Great Lime Road, West Moor, Newcastle Upon Tyne. NE12 7NL on Saturday 24th October 2026. The event will open at 1pm and run till 10.30pm. From 7.30pm onwards the big CHARITY FUND RAISING NIGHT will be held which will include raffles etc and live entertainment. Guest speakers for the afternoon include Brian Ingram, Llangdegfedd '88', Charlie Coppollo with a lure demo, Dick Culpin, Scottish Piking Plonker Escapades, Eric Edwards, Fundamental Principles Of Lure Fishing, Jon Neafcy, Big Fish From Around The World, Neville Fickling, Farewell And Thanks For All The Fishes, and finally the British Pike record holder Lloyd Watson, The 'One' We All Want. This big event we hope will raise substantial amounts for our chosen charity CHILDREN'S CANCER NORTH.  All the guest speakers are giving their time for free and not claiming any expenses and we cannot thank them enough for their support. We also have to give a big thank you to all the tackle companies and individuals who have given us some absolutely awesome donations that will be raffled and auctioned to further boost the amount raised. Full details of all the raffle prizes and those up for auction will be advertised shortly. REMEMBER THAT EVERY PENNY RAISED ON THE DAY WILL GO TO CHILDREN'S CANCER NORTH. We are getting ever closer to our next target of raising £50,000.00 and with everyone's support we will reach it in the non too distant future
