SENPAC CELEBRATE AS PIKE AND PREDATOR CHARITY EVENT RAISES MORE THAN £5,000.00 FOR CHILDREN'S CANCER NORTH.

We hoped that after nine months of planning and an incredible amount of work by Andy Eland who had the idea of holding the event in the first place that we would raise a tremendous amount of money for our chosen charity Children's Cancer North. Andy supported all the way by Dennis Fearon and Mike Bell together with  Damian Mc Hale and Jon Neafcy from the PAC of GB committee all put in an immense effort to make this event a big success. We hoped to get a good turnout on the day and raise a substantial amount but even with a few days to go before the doors opened it was clear that the charity fundraising day was going to be a winner. The blind auction proved popular prior to the event and as the doors opened around lunchtime the room started to fill up with support for our day. We cannot thank everyone enough for taking time to help us out. Our guest speakers in the shape Eric Edwards, Jon Neafcy, Dick Culpin, Neville Fickling and Brian Ingram did us proud with magnificent talks. Many thanks to the trade and tackle stands we hope that you had a good day and the donations made from all the tackle companies and individuals. The support we got on our MEGA fishing raffle was astounding with some very happy punters walking away with what can only be described as magnificent prizes on the day. A big thank you to the SENPAC members who helped out on the day, the support from the PAC of GB and finally to West Moor Social club who allowed us to use their premises for the day. The afternoon event finished around 7pm and was followed by evening fundraiser which included live entertainment, tombola and raffles which brought in more significant income for the charity. A good turnout on the evening which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. A magnificent achievement by all concerned and we can hold our heads up high and continue to raise funds and reach our target of £50,000.00. We can also announce that after discussions with Children's Cancer North that we have successfully pledged an amount that has been DOUBLED UP in the BIG GIVE CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE.

RAISING FUNDS FOR CHILDREN'S CANCER NORTH.

AMOUNT RAISED TO DATE NOW STANDS AT AN AMAZING

                                    £46,235.00.

So with the Pike and Predator event report completed we will move back to what else has been happening in the region during October. The Pike season got off to a flying start for Steve Sandiford and Dave Gardner when they travelled North in the first couple of days of the month. Steve caught the first twenty of the SENPAC season weighing in at 21lbs 2ozs.

After a successful sortie up North the pair headed South to catch some Barbel.

Bruce has been out and about on one of his favourite Yorkshire rivers and caught his first Pike of the season at a few ounces short of twenty pounds.

And then back to nearer home on the hunt for a large Perch.

And finally Ross and Andy started the season off well with Ross claiming his first twenty of the season.

So a very good October in the SENPAC world. What is going to happen in November. Well hopefully some more big Pike and we will also be having one of our now famous "JOLLY BOYS OUTINGS"
at the end of the month.
