APRIL - ANOTHER GOOD MONTH.

A really good month with most of the lads out and about catching some decent fish. Highlight of the month was Dave Greally's 30lb 4oz personal best Pike pictured above. This was the first 30lb plus Pike caught by a SENPAC  member since 2007 when Lyn Baker stunned the Piking world with her 39lb 8oz Pike from the Lake of Menteith. Just to rub it in even more Dave caught a 25lb PB Mirror Carp which is pictured below.

Other highlights of the month Steve Sandiford went on a Bream haul on one of the local waters catching in one session over 50 fish in the 6lb to 9lb bracket.

SENPAC - FUND RAISING COMMENCES FOR CHILDRENS CANCER NORTH.

After many years of fundraising between 1997 - 2012 and raising in excess of £16,000 for Macmillan Cancer, North East Cancer Research, The Great North Air Ambulance, the Jack Charlton Disabled Anglers Trust and other causes SENPAC are pleased to announce that once again we are raising funds for a very worthy charity. It was decided by the members that for the next year we will be supporting Childrens Cancer North. We are pleased to say that we have already had a good response and we would like to thank those who have already donated some amazing prizes. Follow our monthly blog and we will update you on how much is being raised.

MARCH - A GOOD END TO THE SEASON.

Pictured above Jon's only Pike of the day caught on the final leg of the region's Winter Pike matches but the three points he gained for its capture enabled him to win the championship outright. It was a very close run affair with Bruce Turnbull and Dave Greally finishing tied in second place only one point behind. Jon has had a tremendous first year lifting four trophies those being the Summer league championship, the Winter Pike championship, the biggest Pike on a club trip and to finish off this week being awarded the prestigious Pike Angler of the year award which is voted by the region's membership. Andy Eland took the biggest Pike of the year award and Mike Bell was awarded the SENPAC cup. Moving back to the recent trips and the PAC Menteith events which were attended by some of the lads proved hard going with no large fish being caught and everyone had to settle for some jacks and a few trout. The popular Jolly Boys outing was well attended but again we had to be content with smaller fish and the overall consensus was that the milder weather had sparked the Pike into spawning mode. Some nice fish caught though last month by the lads some of which are pictured below.

So that is another Pike season over and the region will now look forward to its Summer matches in a couple of months time. Plenty other plans in the pipeline which we will report on in the future blog reports.
