OCTOBER - EARLY SEASON SUCCESS.

What A Start To The Season For Andy

Talk about off to a flyer. Only a few hours into the new Pike season and Andy Eland has a reason to be smiling. Seven Pike in total the four biggest totalling over 82lbs in weight with the best tipping the scales at 24lb 2oz. An amazing effort to say the least. Andy's fishing partner also got in the act with two twenties as well.

So Andy has set the standard early in the season and it just remains to see if any of the other members can better his haul and top his 24lb plus fish. This season has already had some down points though and the region's  Jolly Boys outing had to be cancelled and re arranged for next year. The first club match was due to coincide with the trip as well but after discussion was also cancelled. Some of the members who had intended going decided to head down to Yorkshire for some Piking. We also had region members on the PAC event on Menteith this month but it has just been confirmed  that this will not be going ahead. October did provide some more Pike to those who ventured out.

SEPTEMBER - CATCHES IMPROVE.

The fishing has improved this last month with the members out and about on various waters. A couple of nice fish as well falling to the rods of Dave Greally and Andy McIntosh. Dave got off the mark with a nice Pike that weighed in at 23lb 8ozs and Andy after putting in many hours finally got his reward in the shape of a 28lb Common Carp which he caught on a night session.

Another Nice Pike For Dave.

AUGUST - THE GOLDEN MAGGOT.

Dave Greally On His Way To Lifting The Golden Maggot Trophy.

August saw the region's match for the Golden Maggot Trophy.
On what proved to be a difficult days fishing Dave Greally lifted the trophy with Bruce Turnbull filling the runners up spot and Mike Bell finishing in third place.

As for the rest of the month a mixed bag. More nice Tench, Carp, and Roach.

SUMMER DAYS.

Another relatively quiet month for the members of the region but still a good number of nice fish being caught. The year is starting to fly bye now and it will not be long before the Autumn reappears and the Pike fishing season will once again get into full swing. Pictured below some of this month's better captures by the lads. Hopefully August will prove to be a good month.

 A Nice Bream For Paul.

Two Lovely Tench For Dave Greally.

A QUIETER MONTH.

Early Morning On One Of Our Local Waters.

After the resumption of angling last month some of the region's members caught some decent fish but I am afraid to say that this last month has not been so successful with only a couple of decent fish being caught. Plenty of smaller fish including trout, chub, perch, bream, and small carp. Best fish of the month fell to Bruce Turnbull who had a nice 15lb 8oz carp from the local country park.

OUT OF LOCKDOWN. - BACK ON THE BANK.

A Beautiful Dawn Welcomes Back The Fishing.

We are back in business after nearly a three month break. We hope that all our friends and readers  around the world together with their families have remained safe during the Covid 19 outbreak.   The members of the region have been so desperate like many anglers to get back out on the bank  and catch some fish.  Fortunately the wait was not as long as some thought it would be and I am  pleased to say that some fabulous fish have been caught by some of the members in the last  fortnight. Pictured below the best of the bunch and we are hopefully going to catch more big fish in   the next few weeks.

championship.
