OCTOBER - THE START OF THE NEW PIKE SEASON.

October Once Again And It's Piking Time.

Before we look at the season ahead we will catch up with the news from last month. The SENPAC Summer league was completed with a new name gracing the trophy. Paul (Pogo) Patterson held everyone off to win the championship. Always one step ahead of the chasers Paul maintained a few pounds lead going into the final leg and in the end was  a comfortable winner.

Steve Sandiford took time out and visited one of his favourite rivers. It proved to be very worthwhile catching two nice Salmon pictured below.

The PAC Convention took place for the last time at Newark Showground on the 13th of the month. A good turnout with excellent speakers on the day. The convention now moves on to Daventry in 2026.

Another highlight during September was the Northumbrian Water/Pike Anglers Club introduction to Pike fishing event that took place on Derwent Reservoir over two days. The weather over the weekend was not favourable but it did not put many off trying to catch their first Pike. A good turnout over the weekend with some very enthusiastic youngsters and adults turning out in the wind and rain. A great success with a few fish caught over the two days the highlight being a 20lb 2 oz fish caught by a youngster with his first cast on his first attempt at Pike fishing.

On waters where we have been able to fish this last month some really nice Pike have been caught. Steve Sandiford fresh from his success with the Salmon fishing did not take long to bank this beauty weighing in at 19lb 10 ozs. (Pictured Below), and Ross Greaves has also had some some nice fish.
